Things I like:
They FINALLY removed the portal interference!!! The portal interference prevented anyone from using the portals to travel faster towards the center of the galaxy.
Some bugs are indeed fixed. Not all though.
You can adopt any pets you see wandering around! This feature is awesome!
They added an option to the terrain builder where you can flat out the surface! This comes handy when you need a flat terrain to build your home base.
They added new weather types and planet biomes to explore.
New ships have been added to the game!
They made this game cross-platform!
You now have the ability to color and upgrade your own freighter.
Things I dislike:
Multiplayer is still laggy! You would think that after so much time (since the multiplayer update came out), they would have fixed it by now. But nope. 🤣
When entering the space anomaly, it sometimes crashes my game! This is probably because of the amount of players being there online.
You have to be careful when using the pulse engine to get faster towards your freighter!!! If you don't stop on time, it can glitch through your freighter and break your game!
With each update, they tend to change the planet biomes (without notifying anyone)! This happened to me a couple of years ago when the multiplayer update came out! I had a underwater base and when I came back online, no water was there! Which fucked up my entire base. I don't know if they still do that with every update though. Let's hope they don't, cause it sucks. 🙄
With the multiplayer update they also changed the entire game mechanics!!! Which sucks because you need to re-learn everything from scrap. Let's hope they don't do that again with future updates.
Customer support is very slow. Specially in fixing critical bugs that makes the game unplayable! Luckily they fixed a lot of that throughout the years.
Not everything is unlocked in creative mode!
Some Nexus missions are bugged as fuck (to the point that you cannot complete the mission at all)!!! All that grind time for nothing. Cause some missions you have to grind your ass off to find what you need. All because the developers don't beta test their own fucking game. So annoying. <.< BETA TEST YOUR GAME BEFORE LAUNCHING ANYTHING!!!
Update: It appears that the Nexus missions are bugged since 2017!!! And they still didn't fix that after 4 years!!! This shows very clearly how they don't give a fuck about the bug reports people submit to them! As long as the cash flows in, that's what matters to them. Funny thing is, that they still wonder why their sales are so low, lol. Doesn't surprise me to be honest. Low performance games/bad reputation = poor sales. That's why you have to beta-test your games!!! If you want good sales and a good reputation, then that's the way to go. Its pretty simple and it doesn't cost anything except your time and focus!
This review will be updated regularly as I play the game. Stay also tuned for future live streams of NMS on my Twitch channel! 😉
